Taylor Swift is a genius. A pop songwriting, constantly touring, four hour meet and greet, been possessed with success since the swaddling dress genius. Sorry haters.

  • It's not even about results, results can be bought. ---Check out what other artists who've been IN the industry for 40 years say about her.---

I'm gonna get bagged on, but it is what it is,. having super rich parents didn't hurt the girl but the truth is that this kind of prodigy talent can and does comes from all walks of life.
  • Call it what you want but It's not exactly country --and I think that's where some of the more legitimate "hate" comes from. ----I say "Deal with It" and call it something else... She's like that dream where some third party candidate actually wins an election and changes the way it works for forever---.....The shame of it is, Is that statistically, there are 4 to 40 more out there that are just as good as she is, but will never get the exposure for various reasons.---I don't care about record sales, but I am a fan of well crafted pop music.

morning music------"Far Far Away" by Wilco

I feel like this song belongs in the great American country and western songbook if there ever were such a thing. It doesn't NEED a label of course, but each time I hear it, I think of that golden age of country music before "Urban", and "Rhinestone" cowboys. Something about this song is so peaceful... The imagery of travel overland as the stars and city lights twinkle by...and the firm assessment that "deep in my heart, I know It's right"....It's timbre and pacing, and sense of longing are for me, a real thing, and as such I feel very strongly that it's one of the more "perfect" songs ever.

There's a unique and haunting quality to Willie Nelson's voice. Like all the great singer/songwriters, he threads a needle and crosses a stream with most every performance.

Just saw where Jody Payne, longtime guitarist for Willie Nelson passed away at 77 yrs old. This is basically like Tom Petty losing Mike Campbell, or Springsteen losing Little Steven. Talk about two guys that could read each others minds on stage. Jody was a constant fixture there beside Willie for years and years, as guitarist and harmony vocals. R.I.P.

"Afterglow" might be the best song the Farris Brothers ever wrote.

In my heart I really want the Kings of Leon to do well on American radio, but I guess till they realize not every fleeting musical thought they have is a pearl, it's not going to materialize.
Amuricans need HOOKS y'all.
